Maxxum finds more than the Boyne Hurdle Success Front – Irvine Times

The eight-year-old youth failed to make it difficult for the judge in four previous starts this season, and most recently he had his limitations to endurance, exposed to extended three miles in the obstacle of Galmo in Park Gowran less than three weeks ago.

Back back on a trip for this two mile six-fun class, a 4-1 shot Maxxum was sent straight to a presenter by Danny Gilligan, and while he was heavily contested by a 15-8 beloved Tedevilkhman, approaching to the final flight, the mountain kicked four Lengths are clear when drilling.

Thisvilscoachman, the winner of Boyne Hurdle in 2022, ended a clear second over the stability of Maxxum Farren Glory in third place.

“He had a good run in Gauran the last day over three miles, probably not home,” says Elliott, whose four previous winners in this race include Dual Grand National Hero Tiger Roll.

“We were thinking of going back to this trip today, if he gets a soft enough lead, he would work well.

– Danny was riding very smart and it was great.

“He did it (beating well) – he rose well, but at the right moment he made his breath.”

Maxxum is likely to be on Elliott’s team for the Chelton Festival next month, with the coach added: “We’ll probably go Coral Cup now, I would say.”
