MAVS upset Celtics for the first era victory after Doncic – Yahoo News Australia

Australia Dante Exum played an important role as Dallas Maverix reported his first victory after the bombing of bomb onion Doncic with an upset 127-120 road victory over Boston.

MAVS superstar Clai Thompson scored 25 points while Spencer Dinuidi (22) and Naji Marshall (20) shone from the bench to help Dallas click in four Celtics matches on Friday (AEDT).

Exum, in his fourth match back from a long-term wrist injury, scored the top 15 points when shooting five of the eight of the pitch and added five assists.

For the first time in the history of the Dallas team, there were three beginners and three bench players scored 15 points or more.

Mavericks’s victory for last year’s NBA finals improved his season record to 27-25, while the managing champion Celtics (36-16) remains second in the Eastern Conference.

Kiri Irving added 19 for MAVS on his first victory in the regular season over Celtics in 2001 after losing 15 of his previous 16 meetings with his previous team.

“We went out to this early lead and just wanted to keep the pressure on them,” Irving told TNT.

“It’s hard to win in this building.

“My recording was not big against them, so it was good to go against them and play well.”

Irving had more time with the ball as Doncic was traded to Los Angeles Lakers on the move that shook the NBA world.

“It was a little correction, but it’s exciting,” Irving said.

“We have new guys there and we’re just trying to get as many reps as possible, but we don’t have that much workout time.

“It feels good to acclimate the boys and look to the future. It’s bright to us.”

Thompson did not score in the last period when Boston gathered, threatening to withdraw what would be a remarkable return when he reduced a 27 -point deficit back to single digits.

But Dallas stayed and lingered despite the efforts of Jailan Brown (25 points), Peyton Pritchard (21), Kristaps Porzings (17) and Jason Tatum (17).

Obtained by MAVS in the Doncic trade, Anthony Davis remains aside with an abdominal strain.

Slovenian superstar Doncic, who joined LeBron James in Lakers, has not played since he has suffered a calf strain last month.

He was not responsible for the start of the Golden State LA three -month stand, but could have made his new team debut within a week.
