The NBA launched the “reserves” for the NBA All-Star 2025 game, finalizing a pool of 24 players accessible to this year’s San Francisco, California festivities. Doncic, which is left, is more understandable as he has played only in 22 games this season due to several different injuries and is already unacceptable to all awards after the season. It is still technically eligible for the All-Star game, but the availability must matter.
However, the exclusion of Irving was shocking. He had a huge season for Mavericks, helping to keep them sailing as Doncic came out. Dallas is still above .500, thanks to Irving and Doncic, can return in the next two weeks. With the exception of Irving, it seemed to surprise many people around the NBA.

Most people seem to be upset that James Hardon and Alperan Segun received a nod to All-Star over Irving, and Mavericks were the only 25+ wins team so that there is no player selected in the All-Star game, and they come to the finals of the finals NBA last season. Irving or Doncic could always be called injuries, but for now they will receive an extra rest at home.
