MAUGHREEN heads to Punchestown for obstacles bow – Irvine Times

The six -year -old, who is from the Big Fagyun family of the dam, is trained as her relative from Willie Mulins and made his debut last January.

It started in Punchestown’s armor and was an easy winner in 11-length, with the shape lingering, as several of the mares behind it did well since.

Mafreen has not seen the track from this effort, but with failure they keep it aside until the end of the season.

After recovering from this issue, she has recently been redirected for her jumping debut and will return to Punchestown to compete #50,000 Betvictor Gonuse Series Masten Maiden HurDle.

“We are very happy with her, she works during the week and her training is very good,” says James Fenton of the owners of a Blonon Competition Club.

“We haven’t really asked her serious questions at home or something, so there will be an improvement.

“We are against a very good mare in familiar dreams, she won four armor, and two of them are black, so a fair performance will be needed to beat her likes.

“We hope she jumps well and goes down a big start, so we’ll get our season a good start.

“The race has thrown some nice mares in the last few running, and she returned to where she won her armor.

“There is nothing wrong with this armor. She won it very impressive to the eye, and if you look back, many of the mares behind her have come out and have won since then.

“It is off the track as there were obviously a few little blacks. In the long run, things happen for the reason and the time it was, it was an advantage.

“She’s developed now, she’s a big mare and these mares just need a little more time to fill.

“With her size, it would always be positive for her to have more time to mature, so maybe it was a blessing concealed.”
