Mary Help of Christians School to celebrate 90 years in Larendo with Gala, plans for the future – KGNS

Laredo, Tex. (KGNS) – Sisters of St. John Bosko have served Laredo’s community since 1935, creating nearly a century of intimate memories. To celebrate, the sisters host a special gala on March 20 to honor their past while looking to the future.

Inspired by the encouragement of a community member who said “We must celebrate this”, Sister Rosana and the organizational team hope to attract graduates and sponsors in honor of this cornerstone. She even hopes to welcome students who attend the school in the 40s!

• Individual tickets: $ 150

All Gala revenue will support the so much needed repairs of Del Mar, and will help the transition of the sisters of Salesians from mobile units to a permanent home. Plans include the transformation of part of the east wing into a residence with a private chapel for adoration, while the rest of the facility will become a youth center.

With nostalgic touch, Mary helps Alum Mandy’s graduates even shared memories of the years of the 70s of the last century – a reminder of the deep roots and a lasting effect of the sisters in Laredo.
