LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) – A Kentucky man is dead after he was hit by a car while hanging out of a window, according to authorities.
The accident happened shortly before 7 p.m. on January 23.
Police said the man, identified as 34-year-old Michael Orchard, was hanging from the outside of a car when the driver intentionally swerved into another vehicle.
When officers responded, they found the man dead. The driver fled the scene, but was apprehended a short time later.
The LMPD Homicide Unit is handling the investigation with assistance from the Traffic Unit. No other injuries were reported and LMPD believes all parties have been accounted for.
Police said the driver of the vehicle the victim was in was not at fault for his death.
