A man was injured after jumping from the second floor of a burning apartment building in Westlake on Sunday.

The fire was reported shortly before 11:30 a.m. at a four-story apartment building in the 100 block of S. Reno Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

It took 50 firefighters just over half an hour to extinguish the flames, which they say started in a second-floor hallway before spreading to the third floor.

Crews say multiple units were damaged by the fire, but did not have an exact number at the time of last reporting.

One person was evaluated at the scene after jumping from the second floor of the building as it was on fire, the LAFD said in a statement. No other injuries were reported.

Investigators were called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

No further information was provided.
