Man allegedly shot by stepson in north Las Vegas Valley – AOL

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man was fatally shot after an argument with his stepson in the north Las Vegas Valley on Tuesday, according to police.

On October 22, around 9:00 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 10100 block of Royal Mint Avenue near north Hualapai Way and west Elkhorn Road.

Upon arrival, police said they found a man with gunshot wounds inside a house. LVMPD officers said the man had an argument with his stepson, identified as 22-year-old Alexander Renteria, which escalated and led to Renteria pulling out a gun and shooting him.

EMS took the man to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Renteria was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of open murder with a deadly weapon, according to the police report.

Renteria is scheduled for a court hearing on Oct. 24 at 9 a.m
