MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Groups like the Urban League of Greater Madison and the League of Women Voters of Dane County continue to encourage people to vote in the 2024 election.
The groups knock on doors in historically low-turnout neighborhoods, coordinate trips to the polls and help provide information and resources to those who have not yet voted.
“We’re just encouraging them to vote and you know that’s been going on for the last couple of weekends and it’s going to continue this weekend,” said League of Women Voters of Dane County President Sue Jennick.
On Saturday, the groups will canvass, host early voting sessions and provide voting information. Activities will begin at 10 a.m. at the Urban League of Greater Madison at 2222 S. Park Street.
They will also encourage people to vote the day before and on election day.
“If you want your voice to be heard in this multicultural democracy, you need to get out and vote,” said Reuben Anthony, president and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Madison.
Both organizations are non-partisan and encourage people to get informed and submit their ballots.
“There is so much at stake for this nation, not just for us, but we have to get out and vote to protect the democracy of our children and grandchildren,” Anthony said.
There is also a hotline at 608-285-2141 if you need help or information or have questions about voting.
