HOT SPRINGS, Arkansas – Madison Holmes finished the Diamante Intercollegiate in ninth place, finishing in the top 10. The Bears finished eighth in the tournament after posting a 9-over 288 on the day.
Holmes was nearly perfect on the day, sinking four birdies and holding a bogey-free round until 18, but carded a 4-under 68 to move into the top-10. She tallied ten birdies in her three rounds. Emma Leroy Fabry shot a 2-over 74, tying him for 30thth after 220. She had nine birdies in three rounds, including three on Tuesday. Gudrun Thorstensdottir added three birdies to her total, finishing with a 3-over 75. Her three-day score was 221.
Ayami Takahashi also finished Diamante at 221, playing his way to a 73 on Tuesday to finish with some momentum. She added four birdies in her final 18 holes, making seven through the three rounds. Valeria Ramirez finished his tournament with an 80, rounding out an 8-over 224. Tiana Eldem continued to play consistent golf, shooting a 3-over 75. She finished her third round of a six-hole streak at or under par. Camila Negroni finished with an 82, adding a birdie on 12.
Florida Gulf Coast took the team title, three strokes ahead of Boston College. Oral Roberts completes the top three. FGCU’s Louisane Gauthier won the individual title, two strokes ahead of Boston College’s Cynthia Zhang. ORU’s Avery Blake finished in third place.
With the conclusion of the Diamante Intercollegiate, the Bears are done for the fall semester. The Bears will be back on the field in February playing in the UCF Challenge. For full stats and standings, visit the tournament page.
