Madison County officials demonstrate voting machines ahead of Election Day – WAFF

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Just days before the election, Madison County officials held a public demonstration of voting machines here in the Valley.

Local voters were invited to come out and see the machines in action while learning more about how local leaders secure votes.

Madison County Probate Judge Frank Barger says that while there are many questions surrounding election security, he wants to reassure local voters that their ballots will be kept under lock and key.

“This is a secure piece of equipment. It cannot be manipulated in any way shape or form at a polling station,” he said. “It has no external access, it doesn’t connect to the internet in any way, you can’t remotely log into it. The only thing that can be done with this machine at the polling station is to turn it on, count the ballots and turn it off.

Polls will be open from 7am to 7pm next Tuesday.
