M4 section “fully closed” after a dead body found on a roadway – Irvine Times

Avon and Sostrsett police said a section of the South Glustreschire highway is likely to remain closed in both directions until the early hours of Sunday after a body between a junction of 20 around Almondsbury and Junction 21 is found near Awkley.

Several drivers have called police at 6.40 pm on Saturday to report something on the road, according to The Force.

“Employees were present and found human remains,” said Avon and Somenter police, adding that they thought the body was a man of his 40s.

“They are conducting inquiries to identify the deceased and notify relatives while an investigation to determine how the person is on the highway continues.”

The M48 to the east is also closed from the intersection 1 near Aust, according to National Highways.

The national highways said the M4 remained closed between the intersection 20 and the 22 intersection on the Prince of Wales.

They said the police had started launching M4 and M48 to the east around midnight.

“This is a complex operation and it will take time because of the location and volume of traffic,” they said in a signal.

“For your own safety, that of emergency services and other road users, please do not try to turn until they are instructed to do it either by police or national highways traffic officers.”

Avon and Somerit Police also called on anyone traveling along this M4 section and thinks there may be valuable information or staff from Dashmam to connect.
