Geoffrey Yap, Chairman of the Birmingham Chinese Festival Committee, said: “This year’s festival will see the return of the traditional ‘Dim Jing’ lion awakening, Dragon Dances and Pom Pom, our ten foot giant panda.
“It’s going to be a fantastic weekend,” he said.
The Royal Worcester Museum is hosting family activities on February 2, including a traditional Chinese tea ceremony demonstration.
Students at the University of Warwick have organized an afternoon of celebration on 28th January. Calligraphy and Chinese knot workshops will be on offer, with a lion dance performance to conclude the day’s festivities.
