Lubbock’s favorite Taco Shop is a restaurant of the year 2025 USA Today – FMX 94.5

What happens when you combine the best taco in Texas, paired with excellent barbecue, home -made Pan Duls and just the best vibrations on the planet?

You get friends at Jimenez Y, of course.

Jimenez’s friends are not unknown to confessions from prestigious sources. Recently, they were listed among the top 50 best tacos in Texas from Texas a month- which takes the Texas cuisine very seriously.

Now they have another source of pride: they are already a restaurant of the year USA Today for 2025.

You would think that this amount of attention from the most elite foods will go to someone’s head. But I can assure you that the family that makes Jimenez y friends so special are the most beautiful people in Lubbock, Texas.

And this is a kindness that goes beyond the normal positive customer service. The “friends” in Jimenes and friends include their customers, with whom they treat as a family. They are also extremely active in support of other local, family companies.

They even got to the point of making a local DJ Cry Happy Tears because they hooked her article at their restaurant (fortunately I did it in my car first).

Of course, when you are hungry, a place with awards and nice are not your first criteria when choosing a restaurant. You probably want something delicious, generous, satisfying and affordable- all made with high quality ingredients and served with a smile.
