Lubbock, Texas (KCBD) – Lubbock VFW Post 2466 will hold a last service in honor of the recipient of the Honor Medal Colonel George Andrew Davis, Jr. on Monday.

Davis enrolled in the army from exactly here, in Lyubbok in 1942, and continued to become a very decorated fighter pilot during World War II and Korean War, becoming one of only the seven pilots in the United States who once became Ace In two different wars.

Born in Dublin, Texas, in 1920, Davis later graduated from Morton High School and continued to secure seven wins during World War II and 14 in the Korean War. It was removed in northwestern North Korea on February 10, 1952.

The service will be held on Monday night at 6:15 pm on 501 114th street in Lubbock.
