Lubbock, TX – Cool conditions will continue today in Lubbock, with a slight chance of overnight showers before clear skies and warm weather settle in for most of the week. The National Weather Service issued a severe weather advisory, warning of possible thunderstorms in the far southwest Texas Panhandle that could bring brief heavy rainfall and small hail.
The high today will reach 75 degrees with a southeast wind gusting to 25 mph. Tonight there is a 20% chance of showers after 4am, but any rain will be light and short-lived. Monday brings a 10 percent chance of early morning showers, with clearing skies by afternoon and a high near 83 degrees. The wind will be moderate with a speed of 10 to 15 km/h.
Sunny skies will prevail Tuesday, with temperatures rising to 85 degrees on Tuesday and 87 degrees by Wednesday. Overnight lows will remain mild, dropping into the 50s. Although the chance for storms remains low, gusty winds may return by midweek, especially in rural areas.
