Lubbock -Cooper offers students a chance to earn loans in college before graduation – KCBD

Lubbock, Texas (KCBD) – Lubbock -Cooper High School offers a new program that will allow students to win a college loan for part of the price.

The deputy chief of Macy Satterwhite believes that these double credit classes will help students, no matter how many hours they take.

“This is again for all students, even if you enter the program and end with what you said for 27 hours, these are 27 hours you have under your belt, which you can then take to transfer,” said Satterwhite S “We want to give all the students a taste of what it might be if they decide to enter college.”

Satterwhite says the collegial academy can save thousands of dollars, while providing college loans in a familiar environment.

“If you are just going to finish Lubbock-Cooper High School and enter the South Plains College, you will pay over $ 10,000 for training and fees to attend school,” Satterwhite said. “If you have the same degree as an associate while you were enrolled in Lubbock-Cooper High School, each course costs $ 150, for a total of $ 3,000 to the degree of your associate. This is a very significant saving for our families. “

The Academy has partnered with South Plains College, Texas Tech University and Christian University Lubbock.

Students will have the opportunity to win an associated degree or other certification from one of these colleges.

Students can then apply these loans to any other school of their choice when graduating from high school.

Advisers will be available to help students the best way for them.
