Lubbock, Texas (January 26, 2024) – Lubbock Christian University continued its 2025 season by returning to the Sports Performance Center for the Red Raider Invitational, hosting Texas Tech University.
In its second meet of the year, LCU earned its first provisional mark, with the women’s 4×400 relay at Elizabeth Florez, Joseline Arana, Joy Egwu and Anna Salisbury recording a time of 3:49.44. The members of the relay also performed individually. Egwu finished 20th in the 60m with a time of 7.81, just short of the provisional mark. Salisbury finished 28th in the 200 meters with a time of 25.94. She also placed 6th in the 400 meters, clocking 56.84, missing the provisional mark by just 0.2 seconds. Florez and Arana finished 9th and 10th in the 400 meters with times of 57.33 and 57.37, respectively. Anna-Lie Waite had an impressive performance, finishing 26th in 25.82 in the 200m.
On the men’s side of the competition, the Chaparrals performed impressively and scored their first provisional mark of the season. Que Fields, Ruel Campbell, Chris Moffett and Daniel Cianez ran a time of 3:13.11 in the men’s 4×400 relay, surpassing the provisional mark. Campbell and Moffett also had strong individual performances. The two earned their first individual provisionals of the season, placing 4th and 7th with times of 47.57 and 48.26 respectively in the 400m. Cianez and Fields finished 13th and 14th in the 400 meters, posting times of 49.22 and 49.33. Freshman Aden Soto also competed in the event, posting a time of 49.37 to finish 15th. Completing Chaparral’s competitors, Evaldo Whitehorn finished 18th in the 400 meters with a time of 50.24.
Lubbock Christian will continue its 2025 affair. next weekend, returning to the Sports Performance Center for the Stan Scott Invite and Multi.
