Baton Rouge, La. – LSU swimming and diving Mitch Mason It was declared a nominee for the introductory good work team presented by Allstate and the National Association of College of Athletics (NACDA), the organization announced on Thursday.
Mason is one of 193 athletes nominated for honors in academics, sports and community impact.
The Allstate Nacda Good Works (Winter) team of 2024-25 celebrates all their nominees-115 women and 78 men-engaging 17 sports, including swimming and diving, basketball, gymnastics, ice hockey and many more.
The nominees were selected by the athletics administrators, the conference staff and the coaches, as the athletes who embody leadership, service and character will now be considered for the selection of the Allstate Nacda Good Works (Winter).
“These young women and men are more than competitors, they are leaders, Changemakers and role models,” says Holly Rowe, ESPN reporter, player for play by play and Ambassador of Allstate Nacda. “Their influence extends beyond the game, the formation of communities and the training of others the value of leadership skills, such as empathy, resilience and integrity that will continue for a lifetime.”
A native of Houston, Texas, Mason, was a member of his community in both Baton Rouge and his hometown of Houston. Mason, captain of the LSU team this season, has been involved in several initiatives, including the Special Olympics – Texas, Halloween Buzar of LSU Athletics, Tiger Aquatics and animal friends.
At the Special Olympics – Texas, he voluntarily joined as an assistant coach for swimming at Heat Bay Area in Houston and helped to coordinate practices and numerous meetings in the Houston region. For the LSU Athletics Boozar, Mason has helped to give away candy and play games for the local children of Baton Rouge. During his time, voluntarily with tiger water sports, Mason helped train local swimmers in several swimming clinics, focusing on technique, launch and turns.
In addition to working in communities that include his swimming experience, Mason also encouraged pets through animal friends, a local Batton Rouge shelter.

A distinctive selection committee will select 20 nominated-10 women and 10 men-athletes from men-to join the team of Allstate Nacda 2024-25 Allstate Nacda (winter). The Committee includes Rowe, ESPN Analyst and former University of Texas and NFL Line Player Sam Acho and other respected members:
