LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – With Halloween festivities in full swing, Laredo police are expecting an increase in foot traffic downtown.
As a result, they will increase police presence in the area along with highly trafficked areas.
They will check that attendees and bars are following the rules. Police say they have already seen a worrying amount of people drinking and driving.
According to Joe Baeza of the Laredo Police Department, “Having a good time doesn’t mean fighting in the middle of the street, being drunk and disorderly or whatever. Bars also need to make sure they no longer serve intoxicated people and minimize the chances of this getting out of hand.
Police are recommending that people joining the festivities have a designated driver to ensure they get home safely.
