BATON ROUGE — On Friday, January 24, 2025, the Louisiana State Police (LSP) hosted the graduation ceremony for Cadet Class 105. The second LSP Cadet Class is comprised exclusively of former law enforcement officers from across the state, the event highlighted the dedication and accomplishments of 51 individuals who successfully completed their journey to become Louisiana State Troopers.
On October 20, 2024 56 cadets began an accelerated 14-week advanced training program designed to build on their basic law enforcement experience. Throughout the academy, cadets participated in specialized training on topics such as crash investigation, emergency vehicle operations, impaired driving detection, fair and impartial policing, legal aspects and constitutional updates, advanced firearms training, leadership skills and rigorous physical preparation.
Today, surrounded by family, friends and colleagues, 51 cadets achieved their goal and were awarded the Louisiana State Police Badge of Distinction. After successfully completing the LSP Training Academy, these newly graduated soldiers will now be deployed across the country. Their next step involves a 10-14 week training program under the guidance of veteran Louisiana State Troopers.
