A local Lubbock bakery that has served the community for 12 years has announced that it will close its current storefront for good on Christmas Eve this year.
Simply Decadent Bakery, located at 5905 82nd Street, 101, made the announcement on its Facebook page and Instagram.
This year has been difficult for many businesses. After much discussion, tears, struggles and prayers, I have decided to close the doors on December 24th.
The post said they hope “we can come back and bake for you again sometime” and that the bakery’s end may be temporary.

I hope this possibly indicates a new storefront in the future or perhaps a cottage business.
The post also reassures anyone who has ordered a holiday cake or dessert that Simply Decadent is committed to fulfilling those orders, “with the same quality and service you’ve come to love,” and that the boxes will remain fully stocked for people who want to come in for a treat.
If you would like to support Simply Decadent at this difficult time or enjoy their treats before you are no longer able to, you can stop by the storefront or order online.

Simply Decadent offers brownies, cakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls, cinnamon roll pudding, cupcakes, macarons, bars, pies and more.
Simply Decadent also has several gluten-free options.
I often see people at local food groups asking where to get a custom cake and after checking out Simply Decadent’s Instagram, it looks like they are the answer. There are many examples of stunning wedding, birthday and anniversary cakes, as well as the cutest baby cake I’ve ever seen (above).
Best of luck to Simply Decadent, we wish you the best during this transition and hope it’s more of a ‘see you’ rather than a ‘goodbye’.
