Lombardo appoints a Deputy City Lawyer at Renault on the Game Control Board - Reno Gazette Journal

Governor Joe Lombardo has announced on Wednesday that Reno Chandeni Sendall’s deputy prosecutor will fill a place on the Nevada Game Control Board, vacated by Britney Watkins, whose term ended this week. Watkins, appointed by governor Steve Sizolak in 2021, refused to seek reassignment.

Sendall started working in the city of Renault in 2015. Previously, she worked as an internal legal trainee for Caesars Entertainment and deals with former Nevad Supreme Judge James Hardsty. She is a graduate of Boyd’s legal school in Unlv. Before becoming a lawyer, Sendall worked as an internal auditor of Caesars Entertainment.

“With its unique origin in the law and compliance, Chandi will bring a new insight and critical perspective on board,” Lombardo said in a message on Wednesday’s news. “I look forward to her leadership and contribution to the supervision of games in our country.”

“In addition to my legal experience, I look forward to applying my educational experience in my economy and work experience in the game industry, as I am starting this new role on the Nevada Game Control Board,” Stoell says, according to a news message.

Lombardo must still indicate the heir to GCB chairman Kirk Hendrick, who informed the governor earlier this month that he would leave the post at the end of the legislative session in 2025, according to Nevada Current.

Hendrick was appointed by Lombardo in 2023. His heir will be the sixth person who chairs the board in seven years.

Hendrick’s departure leaves a former Las Vegas Judge George Assad as the oldest member of the board, as regulators are facing critical issues, including investigations into money laundering in major resorts.

Assad, shortly after his appointment on the Lombardo board in 2023, he announced allegations “against resorts, and his President Scott Sibella were found unfounded.”

Months later, the current reported authorities outside California conducted a criminal investigation into Sibella, Resorts World and MGM Grand.

Sibella agreed to a legal basis agreement, allowing one issue that he had not filed a report to combat money laundering for a large cash payment from the illegal bookmaker Wayne Nix. MGM Resorts paid a $ 7.45 million fine on behalf of MGM Grand and Cosmopolitan.

GCB, who was late to join the probe, has signed a certain agreement with Sibella. In August, GCB filed a complaint against Resorts World, but has not yet taken action against MGM Grand.
