Local school gets check on counseling for kids fundraiser – Dakota News Now

Sioux Falls, SD (Dakota News Now) – On Saturday night, a nonprofit that promotes mental health awareness and suicide prevention held its first event under a new name in downtown Sioux Falls.

Better South Dakota, formerly known as Long Live MC, to honor the life of Manny Christopher after he took his own life in 2021, hosted the Council for Children fundraising.

The event took place at the El Riad Shrine and Better South Dakota presented a check to Patrick Henry Middle School.

“The sky is truly the limit. It pushes us to do more, not just for Manny, but for everyone else who is struggling and going through something that needs someone to be there for them,” said better SD co-founder Tristan Teichmeyer.

South Dakota’s next event is set for May. You can learn more here.
