Local leaders who advocate for state capitol as Texas legislative authorities recognize Lubbock Day – KCBD

Lubbock, Texas (KCBD) – City, County and Civic Leaders from Lubbock are advocating for our community in state capitol today. Lubbok’s Day is in Texas legislation, acknowledging our city’s contribution to the rest of the state.

Both chambers celebrated the southern plains with the Lubbock delegation on Wednesday morning.

Reporter Carl Teper and Senator Charles Perry presented the resolutions that emphasize the farmers and the Ranch of Lubbock, his business community and its universities.

They also acknowledged the cultural significance of Lubbock, including legendary musicians and emblematic performers.

During his recognition this morning, Senator Perry said he was proud to call him at home.

“So it is said, many people leave Lubbock in the bigger city of the city, but most of them, hopefully, eventually go back. So that tells you a lot, “he said. “So we send many people on missions, they get a little taste to real life, do their missionary work and always return to Lubbock. So, this speaks a lot about the community itself. “

KCBD’s Kase Wilbanks is in the Capitol of the State as part of the Chamber of Commerce’s leadership class.

County Judge Curtis Parish says they focus on financing Texas Tech, tax reform, election and water.

“I know that in the end, the Senator will make a change in the constitution, considering some consequences for water for water. And of course, water is always vital to us in Western Texas. This is the vital force, “said Judge Parish. “So he realizes that the Lubbock delegation understands this. And we are in standby mode to make sure that Lubbock and West Texas, our water supply remains stable and long -term. “

Judge Parish says that the speaker Burrose, who is from Lubbock, opens many doors, not that our representative is also a speaker of the house.
