Lloyd Jimmy James Dalby, Jr.

Obituary

With deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passage of Jimmy Dalby, at the age of 79, in the early hours of January 28, 2025. Jimmy was born of Mary Lee and Lloyd Dalby on September 20, 1945. He grew up in Norfolk, graduated from NorView High 1963, then visited the college in Chowan and the University of Old Dominion. Jimmy served five years at the Chesapike Fire Service before leaving to start a wholesale car business. For the next 40 years, he successfully owned and operated budget car sales.

Jimmy’s interest in cars began when he was 12 years old and continued throughout his life. He was glad to attend automotive exhibitions and auctions, indulging in his attachment to classical and sports cars and the comrade of colleagues enthusiasts. His engagement to his profession gained his respect and admiration from colleagues and clients. External work he enjoyed fishing, crabs and play cards, especially a friendly poker game. His love for animals was obvious, as over the years he owned many pets and was the first to support a stray animal.

The survivors include his wife, Kathleen, daughter Amy Dickerson and husband Brad, son Jeffrey Dalby and fiancée, Sister Susan Aldridge and my husband Michael, grandchildren Ethan and Aiden Dickerson and several cousins, nephews and nephews.

Jimmy was the parish of St. Stefan, a martyr Catholic church from his opening in 1997. The family will gather for a funeral liturgy in the church, and the intervention will follow the church sites in the mausoleum of the Heavenly Queen of the Virgin Mary.

Rest in peace, Jimmy until we meet again.
