LISD Schools in “Safe Mode” after Nuevo Larendo Violence Reports – KGNS

Laredo, Texas (KGNS) – The local school neighborhood took additional safety steps on Monday, February 3, due to the reported violence in Nuevo Laredo.

The employees of the Independent School District Laredo (LISD) have said several schools from the west have been put in a “secure regime”. This means that people cannot enter or leave schools to keep everyone safe.

A family member was upset by the lack of communication when he tried to take a relative at Martin High School. Anna Cordova, who has nephews in different schools, said: “What kind of safety? I ask. My nephews have a meeting. In the other campus, I have another nephew in Kristen’s secondary school and no one can enter and no one can go out. Everything is locked. I don’t know. All she says is safety. “

The safe regime continued for several hours in more than five LISD schools.
