Orange County, Flag. Barrow two years after the mass shootings left a 9-year-old girl, a television reporter in Orlando and another woman, a dead, Nejame Law has announced a case against the Orange County Sheriff because of what they call preventive deaths.
On Tuesday, the lawyers held a press conference on the case filed on behalf of three casualties in these firing: T’yonna Major, her mother Brandi Turner, and television news reporter Dylan Lions.
The incident took place in February 2023 after 21-year-old Keith Moses shot and killed 38-year-old Natchaz Augustine, whose body was later found by a car on Hyalea Street, MPs said. Nejame Law shows that Augustine was a “rising star” in the hip-hop community, performing under the manager of “Honey D.”
The trial claims that Major’s death could be avoided if the correct warnings were issued.
According to the case, the MPs were able to clean the crime scene and reopen the area within about four hours, but have not been able to inform the residents that Moses can still be in the area, even after requesting information.
During the press conference, we have neglected how when Major was taken from school by her mother Brandi Turner, she did not know about the murder that had happened nearby. Despite the awareness of law enforcement about the killer, no community alerts have been issued. Turner was smeared in the neighborhood by a deputy without knowing the danger.
Hours after Augustine was killed, investigators said Moses returned to the area, entering Turner’s home for nearly half an hour after the deputies left the scene.
After joining the Turner’s home, the Sheriffe cabinet said Moses fatally shot 9-year-old T’ionna Major and wounded his mother. He then ran out of the home, encountering a Spectrum News 13 news team, which reported the death of Augustine.
“This man, who is currently imprisoned, was arrested several times years ago and all these records were there. And the knowledge of who was known and is not widespread, “said Yome.
While the operator and Turner eventually survived their meetings with Moses, both Major and Lyon succumbed to their injuries, the deputies later announced.
Shortly after this second round of shooting, MPs responded once more to the neighborhood and found Moses, whom they arrested in a few minutes, the lawsuit said.
In the end, Moses was accused of first -degree murder, trying to kill first -degree, armed burglary, resistance to arrest, shooting in a building, shooting in an occupied vehicle, carried a hidden firearm, armed violation and possession of a firearm from A criminal.
The trial blames the service of the racial discrimination sheriff, saying that the agency does not provide adequate protection to the residents of the Pine Hills region.
During the press conference, NEM emphasized the need for changes in policy within the sheriff’s service to ensure the same protection for all communities. While Nikim expressed admiration for Sheriff John Mina, he pointed out the shortcomings in the department, which he said contributed to “preventable deaths”.
“It could have been prevented if, in fact, the same treatment was given to those in Pine Hills, as was given in other areas of Central Florida,” Naim said.
On Tuesday, the Sheriff’s office of Orange County released a statement in the case.
“Keith Moses is the only person responsible for the abominable acts of violence, which took the lives of three of our inhabitants and seriously injured two more. We grieve these losses with our community. The claims against the sheriff of Orange County are unfounded and we will ask the judge to reject the case. “

The lawsuit seeks compensation for the victims’ families and calls for the implementation of standard procedures for notification in such situations.
“Just do the right thing. Change your policies, make it better, “Yom said.
This is the second lawyer in the case, Mark Nim, with regard to the murder in 2023. Last month, he announced another case against Charter Communications on behalf of Lyon’s mansion.
In this case, Nim claims that the company – which owns Spectrum News 13 – was responsible for sending Lyon to the crime scene, where he was eventually shot and killed.
