Oh, the horror! Terror! This is Edgar Allen Po! Oh, wait, are that a holiday? There is Frederick Douglas! Honor?! Is, thanks to the adapter of the advisor and director Ian Galanar, This is the comedy of mistakes, honor! (Most of all) by William Shakespeare, who now plays at Chesapeake Shakespeare. And just a small, big side note: this is the official 100th CSC production! So, congratulations on that! This delightfully, thematically Baltimore takes a classic Shakespeare, maintained laughter that came before they started! This is a great way to meet Shakespeare for beginners and fun taking for the connoisseur. I see that this is a quick favorite for the theaters this season.
Even before we start, you have a “Houker” that offers you (to buy) at Fisher’s Old Bay Popcorn, Cowtails and, of course, Natty Boh. I have to say that the popcorn was very tasty. This helped to solidify a lot of “honor” vibration. You are also associated with some classical music entertainment in Baltimore by the musicians before the show: Greg Atkkin, Holly Gibbs, Jose O. Guzman, Matt Harris, Laura Malcus and Brandon Murray, “CHRISTMA” by David Deboy (local actor of Baltimore Actor ), and “Do your own kind of music” by Barry Mann and Cynthia well, known by Cas Elliott (of Moms and the Pope), just to name a few. There were some fun facts and frivolous blows to our northern brothers in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, because, you know, why not? The play itself was so fun and simple, I laughed all the time.
Created in the mind of Baltimore, according to Poe, acting by Gill Mitchell, this play is more a warm mix of all the things that Baltimore and Shakespeare. Based on Shakespeare The comedy of mistakes, The plot of the wrong identities of the twins is still the central storyline. Two twin sets carry chaos throughout the city by no guilt. This is a whole whirlwind of mess. But it’s a fun mess to witness.
One of the things I really appreciate is everything “HON”. Christina Lambdin, a suit and wig designer, brought her highest level game at the party. The wigs were fun with the design of the tape, and the costumes were the most important “HON” outfit. I even loved small pink shoes with bows. Somehow I want a pair for myself.
Let’s applaud Shacil Jamal, who presented Baltimore and Philadelphia’s antipholb. I appreciated how he made his character a very typical “hood” dude from Baltimore with the classic Philly Candor. Merry. Even his support and swing were flawless.
Another personal favorite was Luciana, played by the dawn Thomas Ready. I can’t put my little finger on it, but every time I saw her on stage, she gave me joy. From polishing the stairs to her shock moments, it was fun to look at her.
I also appreciated the guest -Elana Michel’s team like Billy Holiday. Although we will never have the pleasure of hearing a live Holiday live, we had the satisfaction of hearing the most enjoyable show of “All of” by Gerald Marx and Simor Simons. Her voice was painfully beautiful at that moment.
But the real MVP was Dromio on both Baltimore and Philadelphia, acting by Jose O. Guzman. He was literally in stitches in almost every scene where he appeared. While he was given a performance scenario, he returned purely enthusiastic fun. The number of times he was numb by different people was ridiculous. He did a fabulous work on creating and maintaining chaos. Even his “ewww” moments were funny. Honestly, the way he says “spherically” to describe his brother’s wife was the chef’s kiss for me. And I hope he finally has a chance to eat the right sandwich.
In general, this adaptation was all I wanted and needed it. I openly liked the show and I was prompted with the random moments. For example, the dancing gorilla. It was completely unexpected, but I’m happy it happened. You’ll just have to see this luck for yourself.
