UPDATE: A broken water line at the Sahara Las Vegas Hotel has been repaired, according to resort officials. Service to all hotel rooms, public toilets, bars and entertainment venues has been fully restored. Selected restaurants have returned to normal operations. Bazaar Meat and Balla Italian Soul are expected to reopen tomorrow.
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A hotel on the north end of the Strip is without running water after a construction mishap, but the hotel is working to resolve the problem, according to a statement from the resort.
Sahara Las Vegas said the water problem began Wednesday after survey work on the property by a contractor caused a water main break.
The hotel said this had led to “intermittent problems” with the water supply while work was being done to fix the breach.
Sahara said in a statement that guests will receive an extra bottle of water on each floor in the elevator lobby for immediate needs and free refreshments and breakfast items in the lobby while restaurants are temporarily closed.
A viewer contacted 8 News Now expressing concern about the situation, saying none of the bathrooms at the hotel were working and mentioning he was provided with a “bucket” in the hotel room.
Sahara’s statement said the resort is “working diligently” to fix the problem and is taking measures to assist guests in the meantime. The statement did not give an estimated recovery time.

As a result, we are experiencing intermittent problems with our water services while we work to fix the breach. Guests have access to complimentary bottled water on each floor in the elevator lobby for any immediate needs, as well as complimentary refreshments and food items in the lobby as restaurants remain temporarily closed. SAHARA is working diligently to resolve the issue and is taking measures to assist guests with other needs they may have in the meantime.
