Laredo Health Department is looking for expansion of $ 70 million – KGNS

Laredo, Texas (KGNS) – the city of the Health Department Laredo wants a bigger building to keep up with the health needs of the community.

Dr. Richard Chamberlain, director of public health, says the department needs more space due to an increase in health problems. The current building, located on Avenue Cedar, has been used since 1970 and is too small for increasing demand.

A bond of $ 70 million has been proposed to the Larendo Municipal Council to help pay the expansion and updates of the building. If approved, the money will be used to improve space and for more.

The plan will depend on local voters who will decide whether the relationship is approved.
