The San Diego Lacro team finished its series of two games in South Carolina with a 24-14 victory over Wofford on Sunday.
The victory marks a new team record for most goals scored in the game (24). The previous record was held by the 2018 team, when Aztecs also defeated Wofford 23-4 in his first match with The Terrier.
Striker Nicky seven led Scarlett and Black with five goals in his career and was one of 11 Aztecs who found the back of the net in the game on Sunday. Behind seven was the striker Megan McLaughlin and midfielder Sarah Toner, who won three goals each.
Aztec’s defense also made the floodlights with 14 rpm in the match, and the midfielder Tatum Neic led the team with four rpm.
The Aztecs and Terriers started the game close with goals back. However, the game began to swing in favor of the SDSU in the second quarter, where the team created a five-pole pillow 13-8 to end the first half.
SDSU starts the second half with three points unanswered to increase the lead to eight. Again, both teams would exchange goals, but the terriers ended in a quarter, chipping a point of eight points with eight points 18-11 of the Aztec 18-11.
The SDSU finished the fourth quarter outputing Terriers 6-3 and created its biggest game deficit (10) with its final goal from Mclaghlin 24-14.
SDSU goes to 4-0 for the season after its series in South Carolina. Scarlett and black began the series with a distance between Valentine’s Day, where SDSU beat Winthrop 19-11.
Striker Bella Tan has put the highest six goals and engraves his name in the record book as a seventh Aztec to have six goals in the game. Tan now shares the record with her sister Lexi Tan, who set her record in 2020. Tan also found the back of the net in the match against the Terriers, moving it to 15 goals of the season.
SDSU will return home for its opening home against Denver. The pioneers are unbeaten in the series of all time against the Aztecs (0-10). Currently, the pioneers are 0-2 to open the season.
SDSU is planned to face pioneers on Sunday, February 23, at noon.
