Kyrie Irving Stats, Game Log, News, Profile & Fantasy – Heavy.com

Irving finished with 15 points (6-17 FG, 3-7 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 27 minutes during Thursday’s 120-109 win over the Spurs. Irving struggled right out of the gate, though he finished the game shooting a respectable 42.9 percent from deep. The superstar took a back seat offensively as Luka Doncic posted a triple-double and Klay Thompson scored an efficient 22 points on 60.0 percent shooting from deep. Irving played just 27 minutes, while Jaden Hardy (20 minutes) and Quentin Grimes (15 minutes) logged significant runs, though that probably won’t be the case every night.

Irving had 14 points (6-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists, a steal and two blocks in 19 minutes in Thursday’s 109-84 preseason win over the Bucks. The Mavericks cruised to a 25-point victory against a Bucks team loaded with irregular players, and Irving only saw action in the first half. If those 19 minutes proved anything, though, it’s that the veteran guard is more than ready to start the regular season. Irving will play an important role for the Mavericks in 2024-25 as Luka Doncic’s backcourt partner.

Irving is no longer on the injury report and is expected to play in Thursday’s preseason game against the Bucks. The Mavs released an injury report 30 minutes before the announcement, noting that Irving would be held out for rest purposes, but the team issued an update minutes after noting that Irving would, in fact, play in the final preseason game. The star guard is already signed to the starting lineup along with Quentin Grimes, Klay Thompson, PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford.

Irving will not play in Thursday’s preseason game against the Bucks due to rest. The Mavericks had announced that Irving would be available for the preseason finale, but they reversed course and decided to rest the star court general roughly 30 minutes before 7:30 PM ET. However, Irving should be available and ready for the regular season opener against the Spurs on Oct. 24.

Irving (rest) is available for Thursday’s preseason game against the Bucks, reports Eddie Sefko of the Mavericks’ official website. Irving will return to action after sitting out Dallas’ previous preseason contest for rest. The star guard will likely play limited minutes as he prepares for the regular season.

Coach Jason Kidd said Irving (rest) will not play in Monday’s preseason game against the Clippers, Justin Russo of the Clip & Roll podcast reports. Irving will get a scheduled day off on Monday when the preseason ends. The All-Star’s final chance to play during the preseason will come Thursday against the Bucks.

Irving had 12 points (6-11 FG, 0-4 3Pt), four rebounds and an assist in 17 minutes in Thursday’s 107-102 preseason loss to the Jazz. Just as head coach Jason Kidd announced before the 8:00 PM ET meeting, Irving played less than 20 minutes and did not take the court in the second half. The veteran floor general needs to increase his minutes in the final two preseason games, against the Clippers and Bucks, to be ready for the regular season opener on Oct. 24 against the Spurs.

Irving will play about 15 to 18 minutes in the first half in Thursday’s preseason meeting against the Jazz, head coach Jason Kidd told Kevin Gray Jr. of AllDLLS.com. The minutes limit makes sense for Irving as the Mavericks look to manage the workload of their star players with the regular season just around the corner. Irving will play alongside Klay Thompson in Thursday’s game against Utah, but Luka Doncic (calf) remains out.

Irving (rest) is expected to be available through the end of the preseason, Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News reports. Irving was held out of Monday’s game against the Grizzlies for rest purposes, but head coach Jason Kidd said Monday that his starting point guard should play in the final three preseason games. Klay Thompson, who sat out Monday, is also expected to see action in the team’s remaining games, which should give the duo several chances to play together before the start of the 2024-25 season.
