Your days that look at the clearance racks in Kohl may soon end.

On January 9, the company announced that by 15 states until April 2025 it would close 27 “lower places”. This will reduce the number of Kohl open spaces in the United States to 1123 stores.

Kohl has also announced that it will close its e -commerce execution center in San Bernardino in California until May this year due to a change in technology and focus on the execution of orders in stores.

It is reported that the company employees in the affected stores have been offered competitive compensation packages or have offered the chance to apply for other open roles in Kohl’s.

“We always take these decisions very seriously,” said Tom Kingsbury, CEO of KOHL in the company’s official press release. “As we continue to upgrade our long -term growth strategy, it is important to take difficult but necessary actions to support the health and future of our business for our clients and our teams.”

The news is coming as CNN reports that Kohl’s shares have fallen approximately 40% in the last six months, as many universal brick and mortar stores across the country are struggling to remain open. The outcome also reports that Kingsbury has been replaced by Ashley Buchanan, Michaels CEO this year and will remain as an advisor and will serve on the company board until his retirement in May.
