Dallas star Mavericks Kiri Irving has confirmed her intention to present Australia in future international tournaments.
Going out of his ninth appearance in the NBA All-Star game, the 32-year-old combo guard talks about the necessary process so he can move from the Team USA to play for Boomers.
“We are currently in the process of this, we are just trying to understand the best route to be eligible,“He commented during a media session after contributing to 11 points, six rebounds, four assists and four thefts for Shaq OGS when winning the All-Star mini-tour.
“There are many documents. Obviously, the US still has the decision to make, but for me I just try to do what is best, ” He added, “Honestly, if I could be Aussie at one point in my career and play for the Australian team, that would be great.”
The Melbourne -born Erving had previously chosen in favor of the presentation of the United States in large FIBA tournaments. At the senior level, his international career has moved from the most precious player and won gold in the 2014 FIBA World Cup to another gold medal at the 2016 Olympics. and 2024
Meanwhile, Australia’s senior national team will strive to qualify for the Fiba World Cup in 2027 in Qatar and then compete for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, then the FIB Cup then summer Asia in Saudi Arabia.
