- The trend continues for the Capital Region of job numbers bottoming out in July before rebounding in August. The district lost 10,000 jobs in the early summer months before gaining 4,500 jobs in August as schools prepared for the new academic year.

- Baton Rouge posted the second-highest private sector income in the state, increasing 7% over the past year.
- The area’s workforce has grown by about 2,000 workers in the past year.
- Job growth in Baton Rouge has been strong compared to similar metropolitan areas in the state and weaker than similar out-of-state ones.
- Job postings have increased over the past two months, reaching their highest point in a year.
- Data from the American Community Survey in September showed metro Baton Rouge had net negative migration for the second year in a row.
