Kazee, Perkins trigger Pantters of Panthers over Hornets

Coal Grove – What is better than getting a player to get a hot hand and get many points?
How about two players?
Maddox Kazee scored 31 points and Caden Perkins had 24 points, as Chesapeake Panthers transferred along Coal Grove Hornets 75-43 to the Ohio Valley Conference Game on Friday.
Chesapeake is already 16-1 as a whole and 10-0 in Ovc, half the game behind Fairland, which is 11-0.

The game was close in the first quarter, as Chesapik led only 13-11 when Kazi hit a 3-indicator and scored 7 points.
Rilan Smith struck a 3-indicator and a pair of free throws while Owen Johnson scored 4 points for Hornet in the first quarter.
But the Panthers took responsibility in the second quarter and surpassed Hornets 20-5, and the lead was 33-16 at the half.
Perkins and Kazi scored 8 points to lead the explosion.
The same duet helped the panthers of the 22-point third quarter, with Kazi hit a pair of 3-indicators and scored 10 points and Perkins received another 8 and the lead was 55-37.
Johnson scored 9 points, including a 3-indicated one, while Smith knocked down a pair of 3-indicators and scored 8 points, with Bradley Cliber adding 4 points.
Perkins-Cazi’s duo also scored 6 points each in the fourth quarter.
Braden Claiber scored 4 points, and Johnson had a basket to report the Hornets result in a quarter.
Coal Grove (7-11, 2-10) was led by Johnson with 17 points, Smith 13 and Braden Claiber 9.
