NYX’s heritage extends beyond her remarkable achievements in Kukamonga Rancho. Its impact was also felt in the Victor Valley, where it helped find several missing children and provide vital support during decisive searches.
In March 2024, the K9 NYX was called to assist in a case involving three missing children in two separate incidents in the Victor Valley. The coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies, volunteers and New York herself led to the safe return of children.
One of the cases happened on March 15, 2024, when Adelato MPs responded to a call for a missing 16-year-old girl running away from home.
She had taken her 11-year-old sister with her and the two girls were without the necessary medication. With the clock, Tictaka, the Sheriff Department of San Bernardino County scored in New York to help track the children.
Her exceptional skills helped find the girls who were safely returned home.
The next day, on March 17, 2024, NYX was called to assist in searching for a missing 12-year-old boy at Apple Valley, who left his home on his bicycle.
Diagnosed with autism, the boy’s disappearance caused an immediate search effort. Thanks to the NYX tracking ability, combined with the support of the community, the boy is quickly and returned to his family.
These two cases in Victor Valley emphasize NYX’s exceptional abilities in finding vulnerable individuals, especially children in trouble.
Her role in these searches was critical and her work helped her to provide peace to many families in the community.

Nyx began her career with the Sheriff Department of San Bernardino County at just two years old when she joined the Rancho Kukamonga Police Department.
