Paris, Texas (KXII) – Lamar County’s hearing has sentenced Renault’s man to over 1000 years in prison for child sex crimes on Monday.
The Lamar County Employment Prosecutor’s Office said that Montana Lee Schneider, 40 years old, pleaded guilty to 81 for sexual abuse of children, possession of child pornography and production of child pornography, according to the first assistant district prosecutor Benjamin I. fireplace.
After hearing evidence of punishment, the jurors returned life sentences on two first -degree crimes and sentences for a total of 910 years under the remaining 79 pieces.
The jury also estimated the maximum fine of $ 10,000 in each piece.
A fireplace said that the jurors heard the victim, a relative of Schneider, tearfully describes how he had sexually abused her for years, starting with a shower with her and progressing until rape almost daily. Schneider recorded and filmed in the act of raping the victim and threatened to send pictures of her to friends and family members if she revealed the abuse.
The jury also listened to expert testimony from Lindsay Severson, a therapist at the Center for Advocacy of Children in Paris. Severson described the process that abusers use to gain access to children, to build trust with them and their families, and then to conceal abuse, often through threats and manipulation. She also described the process of treating the victim for post -traumatic stress and mental and physical impact throughout life on children. When the prosecution showed part of one of Schneider’s videos, his lawyer had to elbow Schneider to make him stop watching him.
“The jurors have heard evidence not only from the victim and her therapist, but also heard evil himself when the defendant testified in his own defense,” the fireplace said. “Schneider told the jurors that what he did was not rape, but what the victim wanted. He claims that since the boys at school may want to shoot her, in her most interest, he abuses her. ”
After the jurors returned their penal sentence, Judge Wes Tidwell ordered the sentences to execute consistently, leading to a life sentence followed by 910 years, followed by another life sentence. Judge Tidwell also entered a defensive order for life against Schneider, a fireplace said. It will be eligible for conditional release after serving at least 200 years.
“We appreciate the stubborn work of the jury in this case,” said Lamar District District Attorney Gary Young. “They were presented with difficult evidence of review, but they sent a powerful message that our community has zero tolerance or sympathy for those who harm our children.”
