LUBBOCK, Texas (News Release) – The Lubbock Youth League is pleased to announce its Fall 2024 Community Outreach Grants, awarded to local organizations making a significant impact in the Lubbock community.
Recommended by the Community Impact Council, these grants total more than $12,000 in funding to support essential resources, infrastructure and services for local nonprofits. Any grant will help meet the immediate needs of these organizations, allowing them to continue to provide important support to those they serve.
The grants will be awarded at the November Junior League General Meeting on November 4th at 7:00 PM at the Junior League of Lubbock Headquarters, 4205 84th Street.
Recipients of grants and awards
- South Plains Food2Kids will be awarded 3479 dollars to restore supplies of weekend snack bags, ensuring children in the Southern Plains have access to nutritious food when there are no school meals.
- Caleb’s closet will get 3000 dollars to cover the cost of new clothing racks, which will improve the organization’s ability to provide clothing and essentials to children in foster care.
- Southern Plains Food Bank will be awarded 1072 dollars to cover the cost of replacing tires on one of their vehicles, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of food to communities in the region.
- Children’s Hope accommodation services will be provided 4384 dollars to restore repairs to three HVAC units, providing a safe and comfortable environment for the children housed in the homes.
- Redemptive path will get $565 to fund a new security system for Haven Home, their transitional residence for women, increasing the safety and security of the people they serve.
“These grants reflect our commitment to addressing needs in the Lubbock area and to supporting organizations that make a daily impact in our community,” said Libby Spradlin, vice president of community impact. “The Junior League of Lubbock is proud to partner with these organizations as they continue their invaluable work of providing services and resources to those who need them most.”
The Junior League of Lubbock’s Community Outreach Program is designed to fund nonprofit organizations working to make meaningful, positive change in the community. Applications are reviewed biennially and grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations whose projects align with the Junior League’s mission to improve the quality of life in the Southern Plains region.
