Judy Clark Rhys, at 82, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Living a lifetime in Fox Hill, she was born on November 18, 1942. In the family of Alonza W. Babe Clark and Manola Patterson Clark S Judy graduated from Hampton High School in June 1961 and married Emil Sony Rhys in December 1961. They have been married for 62 years. Judy has been working for Hampton City Schools for over 30 years, retiring in 1998. After retiring, she returned to work on a part day at HCS for another 10+ years. She was an active member of the historical society of Fox Hill and the Clark Cemetery Association. She liked to attend sports events of her husband, sons and grandchildren and was known for love as a “nanny”. She grew up in the waters of the Bay of Chesapik and loves her days in the pool and gardening. Throughout her life with Sony, she had many boats named after her. There was always Miss Judy in the water.
Preceded by the death of their parents; her husband Sonny; grandson, Cameron Rhys and brothers and sisters Carol Sue Garlock and Shirley Bunting; She leaves to keep her memory, sons Emil Skip Rhys and wife Angela and Stephen Rhys and wife Heather; grandson Hunter Rhys; great -grandchildren, Cameron Rhys, Jr. and Lane Hunter Rhys. She also leaves many nephews, nephews, cousins, family and dear friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, January 27, 2025, in the Central United Methodist Church of Fox Hill; With a visit from 12:00 – 1:00 pm to the church. Private funeral in Clark Cemetery; Friends and family are invited to stay in the church for admission after the service.
