Summary

Jenny ouyang uses natural and laboratory experiments to check how and at what speed hormonal regulated features allow the body to adapt to the changing environment.

Neuroendocrine mechanisms regulate the remarkable interspecific differences in the characteristics of life history that have been expecting biologists for decades. However, which mechanisms cause people to react differently when facing the same environmental conditions? The individual change in the endocrine organization is likely to play an important role as hormones have playotropic effects on behavior, morphology and homeostasis, regulating gene expression and the transitions of life history.

Past and current projects include evaluating the reaction of endocrine stress in long -term poultry studies, testing the plasticity and flexibility of physiological features in response to changes in the environment and characterizing the epigenetic and phenotypic features that allow organisms to adapt to the rapid Urbanization.
