DERRY — Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance is coming to New Hampshire just two days before the presidential election between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Vance, along with Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr., will hold a rally at the New England Sports Center in Derry on Sunday night, according to the Trump campaign.

It will be Vance’s first visit to New Hampshire since becoming Trump’s running mate. Trump last visited New Hampshire in January, before the state’s first primary.

Vance and Trump Jr.’s stop in the Granite State is a bit of an outlier, as both campaigns are focused on the seven swing states where the election is likely to be decided. Vance will hold rallies in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, two of the battleground states, earlier in the day on Sunday.

Recent polls show Harris leading Trump in the Granite State. In a poll released Oct. 30 by Saint Anselm, Harris led by 5 points, a narrower margin than previous polls. Political analyst Scott Spradling told WMUR that the Trump campaign may think they can take the state.

Trump’s campaign briefs for the event discussed high grocery, utility and grocery prices, as well as New Hampshire’s opioid epidemic. Vance appeared in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Saturday.

“Kamala Harris broke New Hampshire, but President Trump will fix it,” the bulletin said. Vance and Trump Jr. are expected to discuss their top priorities and make a final argument in Trump’s favor.

In the past few weeks, New Hampshire has seen several high-profile surrogates for the Harris campaign, such as Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and former President Bill Clinton last week. Harris visited New Hampshire with a stop at Throwback Brewery in North Hampton on Sept. 4.

Vance and Donald Jr. will make Trump’s first high-profile campaign in the state since the spring.

This story will be updated with coverage of Vance’s appearance in Derry.
