Summary
Jane Fox, MPH, is director of the Larson Institute for Health Impact and Equity at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Public Health. Ms. Fox has over 30 years of experience focusing on health services technical assistance, research and public health program evaluation in service of increasing access to quality care and support services for vulnerable populations. Her research involves bridging outcomes and application science approaches to identify patient, provider, and system factors influencing engagement and retention in primary care. Using these implementation results and findings, she designs and implements meaningful, timely technical assistance for systems, organizations, and teams. From 2018 to 2024, she was employed by Abt Global as a Principal Associate, co-leading the HRSA/AHRQ account team. During her tenure, she worked on the company’s capabilities to lead, design and support the delivery of solutions to the HRSA and AHRQ markets for new opportunities and projects. Under her leadership, the HRSA/AHRQ team won over $65 million in HRSA evaluation and technical assistance contracts. She directed several projects funded by HRSA’s Bureau of HIV/AIDS and was an advisor on additional contracts from the Bureau of Maternal and Child Health, the Office of Global Health, the Bureau of Primary Health Care, and the Bureau of Health Workforce. Ms. Fox began her career as the Executive Director of the Nevada AIDS Foundation, managing the Ryan White HIV Prevention Fund and CDC programs. She was then assigned to the Nevada Ryan White AIDS Drug Assistance Program. She has several years of experience conducting training and providing technical assistance to clinics and organizations while at the Southeast Center for AIDS Education and Training at Emory University School of Medicine. After leaving Emory University, Ms. Fox was a research fellow at the Boston University School of Public Health, where she served as a lead in several HRSA special projects on HIV of national importance, funded by many evaluation sites and technical assistance centers focused on various intersectional topics with HIV, including oral health, homelessness, incarceration, employment, behavioral health, patient-centered medical homes and systems, and data linkage.
