Wilmington – James Rufus King, Jr., “Bo”, the duty father, grandfather and friend of many, calmly died on Wednesday on February 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in his hometown of Wilmington, North Carolina. Born November 14, 1946, he has lived a remarkable life for 78 years.

Bo dedicated 41 years of his life to the ceramic tile business, retiring in 2002. His hard work and commitment to his trade left a lasting impact on all who knew him, reflecting his dedication and integrity. He found a great joy of fishing, a passion that not only fulfilled his soul, but also encouraged meaningful friendships and unforgettable memories. Known gently as a “coach” of the many young athletes he mentored at Winter Park’s Optimist club, BO has provided teamwork lessons and persistence on both the pitch and outside the field. His inheritance as a coach will forever be embedded in the hearts of those he directs and inspired. Later in life, Bo found true happiness revolved around his beloved grandchildren, whose life he influenced love and wisdom.

The proud veteran of the United States army, BO, set an example of the values ​​of honor and service throughout its life. He is now joining his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Carolyn J. King; His parents James King, Senior and Francis Folk King; And his sister Betty King Stewart on an eternal vacation.

Bo has survived his children Serina Bell (Erwin) and James King, III (Kerry); His sisters Priscilla Krasuswell and Brinda King; His hidden grandchildren, Gabriel Goodson (Landin), Landon Goodson (Kelsey), Logan Goodson (Abby), Brooke King, Jody Norris, II (Lauren) and Jacob Norris; As well as many loving aunts, uncles, nephews, nephews and friends.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 17, 2025, at a funeral and cremation of Wilmington, located on 41 South Street They serve the ceremony. After the service, BO will be laid to rest in the Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Family and friends were invited to visit from 5pm to 7pm on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the funeral home. The family will also welcome the guests at James Rufus King’s home, junior at other times.

Honoring James as Pallbeaers will be his grandchildren Landon Goodson, Logan Goodson, Jody Norris, Jacob Norris, along with Sony Jones and Landlin Boykin.
