TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The future of social media platform TikTok remains uncertain, leaving some content creators worried.
Last week, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to delay the US ban on TikTok. just hours after the ban went into effect.
Although President Trump granted TikTok a 75-day extension, some content creators, including Tallahassee creator Yukwon Toney, remain concerned because they rely on the social media platform to make a living.
Tony said TikTok allows him to collaborate with big brands and build a community of support in the capital city and at Florida A&M University.
“TikTok is my biggest platform, so of course brands approach me more to be on TikTok than other platforms, so it’s a little scary,” Tony explained.
TikTok’s 75-day extension will give time for the app to be sold to an American buyer. During the first day of Trump’s second term, he said it could be a “joint venture” with the owners of TikTok.
