SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Irving Dual Language Elementary School is letting its students get up close and personal with multiple vehicles.
The Touch a Truck event is aligned with a social studies standard on how different types of vehicles support the community.
The students got to see a fire truck, a police car, a snowplow, even a helicopter!
As part of the event, students had the opportunity to see these different vehicles and learn about these professions.
“I’ve seen police, helicopters, firefighters and people helping build things,” said elementary school student Gracy Lopez Irving.
“We ask questions about the firefighters and the police, like if you have any questions,” said Kamar Yusuf Irving, an elementary student.
It was the first time students had a helicopter stop by the school for Touch a Truck Day.
