Ironton wins an OVC wrestling tournament

Ironon’s funerals won the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, as they won all four team games against South Point, Chesapike, Fairland and Galipolis Galya Academy. Centenary – Ironon’s tigers left no doubt who was the best wrestling team.
The battle tigers won all four team games and captured the team championship at the Ohio Valley Conference at the Galya Academy High School.
Ironon beat South Point 66-6, Fairland 60-18, Chesapeake 42-30 and Gallia Academy 36-33.
Ironon individual champions were Liam Almekinder in the 113-pound class, Nate Sloan of 132 and Barkley Lithuania in the 175 Division.
Fairland diverged with the individual awards, as CJ Graham-State Runner last season-was the most valuable fighter in lower weight classes, while Will Callicoat was the most valuable fighter of the upper weight.
