Investigation into suspected drug death at Birmingham Halloween event – BBC

Mr Kay, of Main Street, Higham-on-Hill, appeared before Coventry magistrates on Tuesday, where he was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Warwick Crown Court on November 28.

West Midlands Police said the man’s family had been informed and were in contact with investigating officers.

“Our thoughts remain firmly with them at this difficult time,” police said in a statement.

“Two other men in their 20s were also treated in hospital but have since been discharged.”

About 2,800 people attended the DnB Allstars Halloween 360° event, Forum said.

A statement from the venue added: “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the family and friends of a man who we were devastated to learn had died in hospital on Saturday.

“He became ill in the hall and was treated by our medical team before being taken to hospital by ambulance.

“We have all been deeply affected by this tragedy, as, we know, have many in our wider community.
