LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – If you think your homemade chili is a winner, here’s your chance to try it out and support a local cause! Rich Dierks, Assistant Outdoor Director for Intrepid Care Laredo, invites the community to the Intrepid Care Chili Cookoff on Saturday, November 23 at the BMG Xtreme Sports Store located at 6420 Sinatra Parkway—just behind Sames Auto Arena.
Cooking hours: 10:00 – 15:00
Awards:
Cash prizes await the first three competitors:
- 1st place: $300
- 2nd place: $200
- 3rd place: $150
Entry and Sponsorship:
Entrance fee: $100
All proceeds support Intrepid Care’s “Grinchmas” project on Christmas Eve, where they provide smoked turkey meals to local families in need. Intrepid Care does not make a profit from the event, as every dollar benefits the community.
Sponsorship Opportunity:
There are sponsors for 2nd and 3rd prizes, but Intrepid Care is still looking for a sponsor for the 1st place prize. With a donation of $300, the sponsor will receive:
- Free entry to the competition
- Social media promotion on Intrepid Care platforms
